Bio erosion control uses soft revetment practices to establish native vegetation. This vegetation holds the soil in place and grows stronger year after year. Our two main systems we pioneered for erosion control are:

Vegetated Coir Log System-
This system utilizes a pre-vegetated Coir log and an erosion control blanket (ECB) as soft armor to promote native vegetation. The Coir log provides instant erosion control AND vegetation. The pre-vegetated Coir log can be manufactured site specific, giving advantages in aesthetics and erosion control. The erosion control blanket (ECB) holds the seed in place, protecting them and promoting germination.

What is Coir?
Coir is the fiber layer between the coconut and the outside leather husk. The fibers are graded by length and used for products like rugs, baskets, rope, and of course the fibrous material inserted into our coir logs. This growing medium promotes soil retention, seed propagation, and root growth. |

Breathable Coir Walls-
This system utilizes both pre-vegetated and non-vegetated Coir logs. Native plant plugs are often used with this system, promoting site specific species to establish the native vegetation. This system allows water to freely flow through the log, while retaining soil. This provides a perfect medium for plant growth, which will stabilize the eroded areas.
